Your opportunity – HSE Advisor Job In Australia
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Safety Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our Melbourne team . Your role will involve supporting the National HSE Manager Residential during the design, implementation and monitoring of critical HSE requirements and initiatives across the Residential and Construction business to continually develop the business’ HSE culture.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake HSE duties consistent with the requirements of the Residential and Group’s Health Safety Environment Management Systems.
- Assist in the implementation of Mirvac’s standardised HSE systems and processes
- Assist in the review of HSE Management Plans, Job Safety & Environment Analysis or equivalent, insurances and other relevant HSE documentation in a timely manner and within 72 hours.
- Administer the HSE Residential Service Provider Online portal (HammerTech).
- Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of the HSE Management Systems and supporting policies, procedures, guidelines and awareness programs.
- Facilitate the dissemination of health safety environment information to all relevant personnel.
- Monitor changes to Mirvac Group’s HSE Management System, procedures and work practices to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and codes of practice or standards and Mirvac HSE objectives and targets.
- Conduct investigation and formal reporting of incidents involving injury, near miss, damage to plant and equipment or environment harm within 24 hrs and ensure that appropriate and timely action is initiated to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in the review of health safety environment objectives and targets and monitor performance for the workplace(s) to promote continual improvement.
- Promote the completion and recording of employee safety engagement activities.
- Administer workers compensation, injury management and return to work processes and assist in the administration of any relevant case in the Team under their scope of works.
- Undertake HSE site inspections and audits as required.
- Participate in Principal Contractor (PC) HSE tender reviews and undertake HSE implementation reviews.
- Assist in the implementation of incident management protocols at the workplace level in consultation with key Mirvac stakeholders
- Assist the Workplace Manager(s) in the administration of written corrective action plans to eliminate any deficiencies identified from any workplace audit by an internal or external third party.
- Assist Workplace Manager(s) with inputting event data to the iSystain system.
- Participate in the resolution of any disputes in consultation with the National HSE Manager.
- Assist with the delivery of HSE induction and any other HSE relevant training.
- Review of relevant HSE Management Plans, SWMS and WRMP across key activities and assist the business to prepare where required
Your point of difference
To be successful you will have acquired relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health Safety, ideally a Cert IV in OHS, with indicative industry experience of 3 – 5 years.
You will have operational site-based experience, sound knowledge of regional HSE policies and injury management & return to work requirements. Intermediate MS Office skills is required as well as formally recognised audit or investigation qualifications.
Finally the HSE Advisor will have excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work effectively in dynamic team.
